My school is still reeling from all the craziness of mid-year. We are a school that would definitely benefit from a school wide behavior plan. Ironically, one of the reasons we struggle is that some or our teachers assume they're still in Kansas (no, literally!) Our population is Hispanic, mostly Mexican with a smattering of Cubans and South Americans. Time to peel back our expectations and figure out how to motivate our students!

Still Banging the Behavior Drum
I realized it was time to revisit the article on positive reinforcement. Reinforcement is critical to success in any classroom with any population. When your students are socially or functionally disabled, it may take different reinforcers than students who are only struggling with text or with math.
