Pat Nixon's 100th Birthday
Today is the 100th anniversary of Pat Nixon's birthday. She was born Thelma Catherine Ryan in Ely, Nevada, just hours before St. Patrick's Day in 1912. Pat Nixon graduated in 1929 from Excelsior High School in Norwalk, California. This is the same high school I graduated from and she was the First Lady during my high school year, so we heard a lot about her. I live a couple of miles from the Nixon Library and am anxious to go visit the new exhibit dedicated to her. The exhibit will be open from March 16th to September 3rd. If you plan a homeschool field trip to the Library, email me and I'll tag along.

Carnival of Homeschooling Roundup
Henry Cates of Why Homeschool began the Carnival of Homeschooling in 2006. Here is a roundup of the carnivals hosted here at About.com Homeschooling. The themes of the carnivals are determined by the individual hosts each week. Some of the themes I chose were serious and some were just for fun. I hope you enjoy the carnivals.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
One of the legends of St. Patrick is that he drove all the snakes out of Ireland. Learn more about St. Patrick's Day with with these fun St. Patrick's Day Printables and activities.
