From Jerry Webster, your Guide to Special Education
School Specialty, from whom I order a lot of tools to assist with my students, included a blog to the email they sent me informing me of new products. I found an blog article on a PREVENT, an acronym to help you and your parents to deal with the tantrumming that is typical of children with Autism spectrum disorders, and children with other neurological disabilities. And of course, more from Teach Like a Champion. We have just 14 more techniques!

Got Tantrums?
School Speciality sent me a link to a blog, My Special Needs, which included an excellent article on tantrums. If you deal with children on the spectrum or other children with difficulty regulating their emotions or behaviors (sometimes diagnosed as bipolar) you know that tantrums are not confined to 3 or 4 year olds. The blog provides an anagram, PREVENT, which I felt provides an excellent framework for dealing with all the challenges surrounding tantrumming.
