I just heard from the principal's secretary that we are not to order any textbooks, since Nevada adopted the Common Core State Standards proposed by the Council of Chief State School Executives. We need to wait until texts are recommended that help us meet those new standards. 40 states have already adopted the standards. But not Texas. Why not Texas?

Teach Like a Champion - Technique 30
Technique 30 continues on the practices that support a strong classroom culture where learning and instruction happen efficiently. Technique 30 is "Tight Transitions," or transitions that move quickly from activity to activity without wasting time.

Autism Spectrum and Pervasive Developmental Delays

Who Gets Left Behind?
The re-authorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA,) which was renamed No Child Left Behind when it was reauthorized by the Bush Administration in 2004. Both the Secretary of Education and the incoming Republican Chair of the Education Committee have cited the weaknesses in the bill, and the things they see that need to be reconsidered. So, what will the new bill look like?
