Colleges are beginning to send out their responses to Early Action and Early Decision applications, and some students are finding themselves in waiting limbo. Rather than be accepted or rejected, they've been deferred.

Deferred? What Now?
If you applied to college under an early decision plan and find that you've been deferred, there are a few steps you can take to improve your chances of being accepted in the spring. Learn more.

Sample Letters to Colleges
If you think you have meaningful new information to share with the college that has deferred your admission, it can be a good idea to write the school a letter. These samples letters can help guide you:
  • Sample Letter #1: Caitlin writes to the University of Georgia to explain a new award.
