I used to work with a guy named Russ who claimed he was so old that all he did was watch the Weather Channel. He would later comment that "At least I don't watch C-SPAN." He's retired now. So I expect he watches C-SPAN now as well.

Growing up watching some local-to-NJ news, there was a weather man (Lloyd Lindsay Young) who pronounced humid not the way you just read it in your head, but as hum-id. I still pronounce it that way because someone has to keep the tradition going.
