From Beverly Hernandez, your Guide to Homeschooling
Today is National Chocolate Covered Insects Day. This is a good day to learn about insects while eating chocolate covered peanuts or chocolate covered pretzels. What about chocolate covered ants and crickets? Be my guest.

Pretend Play Kits
Pretending is an important part of childhood. Pretend play builds social, emotional, language and thinking skills. We can encourage pretend play and nurture the imagination by providing resources that spark children's imaginations. These printable kits encourage pretend play and are great anytime there's a lull in the day or you hear the words, "I'm bored."

Understanding Charts and Graphs
Charts and Graphs is a topic that's covered all through school, from Kindergarten through 9th grade. The first time I realized that my children needed to learn this topic was when my daughter took the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills in the third grade.
