In my personal life, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love its family-oriented, food-centric, gratitude-focused spirit. That's my kind of holiday!

So it comes naturally to me to bring my Thanksgiving enthusiasm into the classroom. My top way to spread the November cheer is through a variety of Thanksgiving writing activities:

Top Ten Teaching Mistakes
Nobody likes to talk about making mistakes. Yet, it's inevitable that we all make errors in our teaching career, maybe even on a daily basis, if we're being honest! (On my toughest teaching days, I sometimes feel like I'm messing up every hour!)

But it's good to be aware of common teaching pitfalls so that we can strive to continually improve as educators. As they say, "Pride comes before the fall." Behavior Contracts for Challenging Students
We're a few months into the new school year. Hopefully, you and your students are starting to gel and work together like a finely-tuned machine.

However, it's common to have one or two students who are, for whatever reason, exceptions to your classroom discipline plan. The best course of action may be to design a more structured and individualized contract to support the student's goals.
