The SAT's new Score Choice policy is making this type of excessive testing even more common. Today's newsletter provides some common sense advice about when to take the SAT or ACT. When Should You Take the SAT? The SAT is offered seven times a year (check out the 2010 - 2011 SAT exam dates). My general recommendation is for students to take the exam once in the second half of junior year, and if necessary, again in the beginning of senior year. Learn more. When Should You Take the ACT?
