About Today: How to Treat a Sunburn

From Jen Hubley, your About Today Editor
I am a see-through person, with visible veins and arteries just like the plastic model of the human body you had in science class when you were a kid. As a result, I sunburn easily.

How to Treat a Sunburn
Of course, I do my best to avoid it. But sometimes I forget to reapply my sunscreen, or leave my giant sun-defeating hat at home, and then I need to figure out how to make the burn hurt less.

Tips for Treating Sunburn
You can't really treat sunburn itself, but you can minimize the discomfort. Also, write in your diary, "I will wear sunscreen, I will wear sunscreen" until you remember to do so.

Sunscreen Myths vs. Facts
In my mind, putting on sunscreen just once makes you totally immune to the sun's rays forever. For the whole rest of your life, no sunscreen, it's cool. In reality, well, you see me with this aloe, right?

Video: How to Soothe a Sunburn
My friend Sara invented a sunburn cure. "You stub your toe, the little one, on something hard," she said. "Then you won't care." These soothers are probably more effective.

From Jen Hubley, your About Today Editor
Sweepstakes are addictive. Everyone I know who gets involved with them says they're the best hobby ever. They're not quite gambling, and they're not quite the lottery. There's a certain amount of skill involved, and a certain amount of luck. The only downside is, you have to watch out for scams.

7 Ways to Spot a Sweepstakes Scam
The old adage isn't necessarily true for sweepstakes: If it sounds too good to be true, it might not be. Which makes it even harder to tell what's legit and what isn't.

Is That Sweepstakes Legitimate?
Fortunately, our expert knows what she's doing, and is more than willing to tell you. So you can sweep in peace!

12 Signs That Sweepstakes Is a Scam
Or: "Why you should beware of the large check." Especially if there isn't an affidavit involved first.

Before You Respond to a Win Notification...
This is why I love the internet. It makes it easy to research anything and everything, and therefore harder for cheating cheaters to cheat you. Here's how to find out if that win notification is legit.
