We need to be aligning both our lesson plans and our IEP's to state standards. In my setting it is the Common Core State Standards.

Tip a Week - Create a Standards Bank
Best practices require you to align your lesson plans and your IEP goals to your state standards. Nevada just adopted the Common Core State Standards, and we also now can plan on a "curriculum engine" which provides us access to the goals. Creating a standards bank really makes it handy.
