Monday is National Talk Like a Pirate Day - have fun with pirates. We put aside the books and did our map reading lesson at Disneyland. You can do the same thing at a local zoo or museum or anyplace that has a map of the facility.

What dinosaurs were discovered in your state?
Do you know what dinosaurs were discovered in your state? Bob Strauss, the Guide to Dinosaurs has a state-by-state guide showing showing the dinosaurs and prehistoric animals that have been discovered in each state.

Map Reading practice at Disneyland
What a fun place to practice map reading skills. I tagged along on this lesson with the grandkids who managed to stay focused and get us where we wanted to go. They identified the key and the compass. Read more.
