Another technique for those who are following the 49 techniques from Teach Like a Champion by Doug Lemov. I also take on teacher cheating as well as link you all up with the new Common State Core Standards, a document that 42 states have already committed to using to replace their own state standards.

Teach Like a Champion -- Technique 9
This week we continue with Doug Lemov's Teach Like a Champion with technique 9, which continues to focus on planning. Technique 9 is "The Shortest Path," or keep it simple.

Teachers Cheat to Get Better Test Scores
The New York Times exposed more teachers and administrators trying to improve their students' performance on state high stakes test because of the economic pressure districts are under. How far will the pressure to perform take teachers trying to save their jobs?

Common Core State Standards
The final draft of the Common Core State Standards proposed by the Council of Chief State Education Officers has been released on their own website. I have comment and a link to the standards.
