From Beverly Hernandez, your Guide to Homeschooling
I hope you're having a relaxing summer and finding creative ways to beat the heat.

Roundup of Summer Learning Activities
Here's a roundup of free and inexpensive summer activities to help keep your children busy this summer.

The Great American Backyard Campout
Join in the fun this Saturday, June 26th, by venturing outdoors for the 5th annual Great American Backyard Campout sponsored by the National Wildlife Federation. Rather you pitch your tent in your backyard or just sleep out under the stars, this is a great opportunity for making some family memories. Make sure to turn the automatic sprinklers off for the night...a lesson I learned the hard way. Don't forget to print the Camping Printables...pitch your tents and have fun!

4th of July Printables
Learning about Independence Day is a great way to sneak a history lesson in. Amidst the fun crafts, recipes, and activities, you'll find a short history of Independence Day and an online quiz. Who says school's out for the summer?

Route 66 Printables
Route 66 represents a lot of things to many people. To some, it holds memories of adventures taken across country. For others, the magical road is a romantic representation of times gone by.
