I reviewed a book by a colleague over at autism.about.com. Lisa Jo Rudy wrote a guide book to help parents encourage the parents of children on the autistic spectrum to get them out into the community, to use community resources to broaden their horizons and raise their social functioning. I was pleased that she advised parents to take care of their neuro-typical children, as well, recognizing the hardships these kids have to face with parents who are so focused on disabled siblings.
