From Laura K. Lawless, your Guide to French Language
Bonjour ! Welcome back to the French for beginners newsletter. It's week 3, and we're still working on the building blocks of French - essential vocabulary, expressions, and verbs.
Vocabulary
Numbers
Learn to count in French.

Telling Time
If you ever take the train or go to work, you'll need to know how to tell time.

Grammar
Il y a ~ There is/are
This is one of the most common French expressions.

Il est, C'est ~ It is
These are the other two most common expressions. Don't worry too much about the difference between c'est and il est; just be sure that you recognize them when you read or hear them.

Verbs
Avoir, Être, Faire
To have, to be, and to do/make are three of the most important French verbs, so be sure to study this lesson. Unfortunately, they are all irregular, so it may take a little time.

Pronunciation
E
All about the French letter E.

O
Learn the two pronunciations of the French O.
